Information about Victoria’s $250 Power Saving Bonus is available here:

In an effort to combat the cost of living crisis, all Victorian households will be eligible to receive a $250 reward if they seek out a better energy plan beginning on Friday.

Premier of Victoria Daniel Andrews pledged $250 million in May prior to the state budget.

“One million families at $250 per unit. Premier of Victoria Daniel Andrews stated on Thursday that there are obviously far more households than that.

“It would be ideal if we needed to invest more money on this. That would be an excellent dilemma to have.

“It’s better in your pocket than in an energy company’s pocket.”

On July 1, the bonus will be available to all Victorian homes that compare their energy package using the website Victorian Energy Compare.

The $250 payment will be available until June 30, 2023 for eligible households.

Is anyone qualified to receive the money?

When it comes to finding a better energy bargain, Andrews announced that every Victorian home would be eligible for a subsidy from the state.

Using the Victorian Energy Compare website, you may compare energy prices in Victoria for free.

According to Andrews, customers can still receive the cash even if they don’t switch to a different energy provider.

He explained that the issue at hand was one of rising living expenses.

“It’s possible that the deal you’re now on is the best deal available. That’s not the case for about seven out of ten people.”

Victorians who move will be able to reapply for the $250, but only one payment will be made per household.

With the home’s metre used to apply, Andrews said the programme would not allow members from the same household to double-dip.

In addition to the $250 Power Saving Bonus for concession beneficiaries, including Victorians receiving JobSeeker, Austudy or pension concession payments, this payment will be made.

Concession-eligible residents of Victoria can still apply for the $250.

It’s not too late to apply for the concession payment, says Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio. The deadline is this Wednesday.

That works out to a savings of about $330 each year, plus the two $250 payments they’ll have to make.

Is it going to be released soon?

The payments are available on the Victorian Energy Compare website from July 1, 2022.

They will be available for a year until June 30, 2023.

How to apply?

Victorians have had several months to apply for an invitation to the programme, which will begin on Friday.

They only need to fill out the form with their name, email address, and phone number.

Those who are unable to access the website will be able to call a helpline.

If you apply electronically, the payment will be deposited into your bank account within two weeks.
